The video feeds from the cameras are streamed using an internet connection. An existing internet connection is usually used if it has enough throughput, otherwise the connection needs to be upgraded or a separate connection will have to be obtained. Using the internet connection, Watcher will connect the cameras to its Cloud based technology platform using a secure virtual private network (VPN) connection.

Watcher watches the cameras and contacts you or your preferred armed response company if a threat is detected but does not provide guarding or armed response directly. Our view is that using cameras to monitor a site effectively using the correct technology, with an armed reaction service is more secure and cost effective than having guards on site. The Watcher Surveillance Officer is constantly responding to alerts on an interactive interface designed to keep him/her engaged. The work in the Surveillance Operations Centre (SOC) is performed in teams, and any alert that gets missed will automatically be escalated to Watcher’s supervisors in a chain reaction, assuring a response on every alert.
